{"id":30659,"date":"2021-12-03T07:00:57","date_gmt":"2021-12-03T07:00:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/teddiezieglerhorsemanship.com\/academy\/course\/how-to-work-with-a-food-aggressive-horse-3\/"},"modified":"2022-10-21T07:00:11","modified_gmt":"2022-10-21T07:00:11","slug":"bo2-01-12","status":"publish","type":"tva_lesson","link":"https:\/\/teddiezieglerhorsemanship.com\/academy\/course\/bo2-01-12\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Work with a Food Aggressive Horse"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>If you have a food aggressive horse this can cause problems and issues when training or even being around your horse as his or her focus is ONLY on food. &nbsp;This can be damaging to your relationship, detrimental to building a bond, and possibly dangerous.<\/h4>\n<p>So, how do you know your horse is food aggressive?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Does your horse\u2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Get overly excited and run around when you bring in food?<\/li>\n<li>Check all your pockets and mug you if you have a treat on you?<\/li>\n<li>Pays no attention to you and focuses only on the food in your hands?<\/li>\n<li>Pulls on the lead when he sees food?<\/li>\n<li>Practically runs you over to get to the feed bowl?<\/li>\n<li>Grabs food or hay from your hands before you are ready to feed?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If any of these apply you know you have a food aggressive horse.<\/p>\n<p>Now that you know that your horse is food aggressive, the first thing you want to do is stop carrying treats or food on you!
