If left alone in the same room, one cools down to room temperature and the other warms up to room temperature. So after some time, they are the exact same.

This will happen with Mark and Jazz as well. They will both even out with practice and time and will be in total sync soon enough.

You see in this video a more detailed view of how to actually lead your horse and get him to just move forward together.

When you decide you want your horse to pick up his head to move forward, you simply tighten up a bit on the rope with your inside hand, pull slightly until he starts to move his head, then release immediately showing him that he did exactly what you asked and you are releasing the slight pressure as a reward. Then ask him to walk on and he will go with you easily and gently.

If your horse then puts his head back down or resists you, just do the slight pull and release again, in short intervals, until you get the desired results.

Don’t yank or pull or push in a harsh way or for a long period of time – this isn’t a fight. In a tug of war, I’m sure a 1,200 lb horse will win!

Once your horse realizes what you are doing, his reactions will become quicker and he will respond easier to your touch, even to the point of you just starting to move your hand on the rope and he will pick up his head and move wherever you want him to go.

Your horse can feel more than you think from your hands on the lead rope.
