When I was 9 years old my parents bought me a pony. He was a weanling POA. Me and him hung out together all the time, and I realize now that is how an inexperienced kid and a baby horse evolved to where we could do anything together. My pony won a jumping class, pulled a pony cart giving disabled kids rides, rode trails, swam across a pond and even rode bridleless. I grew up and had kids and a full time job and never had the relationship and success with other horses that I had with him. Now that I’m retired, I hope to achieve that again…by spending quality time with my horse.
