After reading your replies to others who have posted responses here, I am stoked to hear that you have managed to find alternative grazing and that he will be able to be moved soon. How wonderful. We all look forward to hearing how Kit flourishes under your loving care. Kit's owner is very blessed to have your help and friendship x

I lost it the second I saw him and acted right away. I got the state vet involved and animal control immediately. And I started looking for places to relocate him. Unfortunately, being a stallion made it extremely difficult. There are no boarding facilities that take stallions here. With the help of many, we finally found him a private home to relocate to and they are repairing fences for him as we speak. He will be moved shortly. The other issue is that he was not well enough to be moved until now due to his emaciation. But he has been under a vet's care and watched by animal control since I contacted them. I have never stopped doing something since I first saw him. I am protecting him and bringing him back to health.

Absolutely. Kit is the sweetest stallion I've known and for her to say that told me a lot about her. Especially with the young novice who was able to handle him and said he was so sweet. We have found a new place for Kit, but are waiting for the fences to be repaired for him. Soon, very soon.

Wow, you can really tell a lot about someone by how they treat animals. This lady telling you how Kit was the most problematic horse she's had there struck a note with me because the boarding place that starved my horse said the same thing about my horse. Deep down, these people know they are treating the horses badly and try to make it the horses fault. There are no excuses! I hope Kit can get away from there fast.

Teddie, will the owner let you take him? That seems to be the best alternative she has at this point. Can she not see that? I so fervently hope that you can somehow take possession of him before something irreversible happens.

In reply to <a href="https://teddiezieglerhorsemanship.com/they-are-still-out-there-part-ii/#comments/2335">Lizzie</a>.

You are much nicer than I would be. This situation is criminal. I would have gotten the state vet involved immediately and started the process to get the barn shut down. If the picture Teddie paints is accurate, there could be animal cruelty charges brought against the barn owner. For me, leaving Kit there for one more night would not have been an option. If his board is paid up, an owner can take the horse out any time they please. And, even if the owner is handicapped and is lied to, she has a responsibility to make sure the horse is OK. Send a friend out to check! I probably should not have read these blogs, because I am sickened and angry. I'm not going to be polite. DO SOMETHING NOW!!!
