How To Help Your Horse Stay Cool

This week has been unbearably hot here in Maryland.  Besides the high temperatures, it has been extremely humid.  The kind of humidity where your clothes are drenched after 15 minutes outside.

So this week I just wanted to go over ways to help your horse stay cool in case you were going through a similar heat wave.

If you’ve been following me for a while you may have already read this lesson.  But if not, I wanted to share it again.  Just click the link below that says – “Hot Weather Tips”.

It is so important to keep your horse cool in the hot temperatures.  Especially if you have a dark horse like I do.

Please go to the link below to read about ways to keep your horse cool.  In the meantime, I am going out to give my horse and myself a cold bath with the hose.

See you next week.  Until then, have a great weekend, and Happy Horses!

You’re the best as another set of great tips and smart ideas. It is very important to keep horses cool in the hot summer weather. Mine would gather under oak trees and wade in the fresh spring-fed ponds.

What fun brushing them off after they rolled in muddy pawed-out areas as well as hosing them off. Here in my area even though it’s country I do not see many riders. I guess they ride on the trails down towards the river.

    • Yes Connie, it is important to know how to keep your horse cool in the hot summer weather. So many things can happen that could affect their health. Knowledge is the first defense.
