Let’s do this together…

I spoke with a horse owner today and she said, “But you have to be forceful with your horse at some point, right?”

NO!

You never have to resort to force. There is another way and it works even better.

It’s about options, opportunities, freedom, and choices.

It’s about not having to say ‘no’ to what you want.

It’s about energy, beliefs and actions – yours.

Here’s how it played out for me:

I opened my heart. I looked at my past and what everyone was telling me I “should do”.

And then I listened to my heart and I changed my mind.

I tuned into the energy and watched the behaviors of my horse each day.

Her next response to my “No” was, “Well, making your horse do what you want is the quickest way to get what you want”.

Again, NO!

You don’t have to force your horse to get what you want.

How do you feel if someone tries to force you to do what they want without asking or even discussing the matter?

Horses don’t like it either.

Then instead of making the training go quicker, force actually makes it go slower.

There are more pushbacks, more ups and downs, more inconsistencies, more re-training.

I have seen horse owners struggle for years trying to get their horses to ride out without incident.

And I’ve heard them say that it normally takes years to get a horse “seasoned”.
